gardenia girl

a Saturday Evening Post cover from 1946, which sits upon my bookshelf. My grandmother Gail is the girl in a red dress with a lovely white gardenia in her hair. She was fifteen at the time. I just love the dogs and bicycles perched outside the doors – classic staples of New England towns.
