sunday on bond street

Will Cotton, the painter of women lolling around larger-than-life confections, opened a pop-up Will Cotton Bakery at Partners and Spade. For the past two weekends, Will and a staff decked in cupcake crowned tiaras, served up macaroons, tarts, cakes and cupcakes in the likeness of his artwork. Scott and I snatched up one of Will's grandma's cupcakes, which was iced in a mountain of butterscotch, and three marvelous macaroons – lemon, salted caramel, and pumpkin. While each terrific, the pumpkin macaroon had to be one of the most magnificent treats we have ever enjoyed, filled with the making of homemade pumpkin pie. It was quite a scene – with Andy himself amongst the crowd, the curated shop was in full force.

Across the street we browsed the three-day old The Future Perfect. The NYC Sewer-top table is genius!
