#1. throw a dinner party

Late in October dinner parties begin to crop up all over your date book, and before you know it, you have eaten your way into the new year! Well, one of these years I'm determined to throw one of my own. Not just a few friends over for pasta, but a real, true dinner party with invitations, place settings, linen napkins, three courses and everything! It's on my 30 before 30 list... OK, I actually don't have a 30 before 30 list, but I think this is a good, easy enough place to start >> 1) lilly pulitzer paper lanterns. love them. 2) one of several adorable numbers from anthropologie 3) keep your hair out of the soufflé with these kate spade bobby pins 4) cane paper votives from elizabeth bauer design. you m-u-s-t visit her west village shop if you get a chance. 5) excellent hostess gift as one can never have too many bottles in stock; that's why they made cellars 6) john derian british seaweed plates 7) james beard's american cookery 8) anna bond's recipe cards and boxes 9) lobster letterpress coasters from sesame letterpress 10) fill-in invitations by greenwich letterpress 11) bouquet cupcakes from the cupcake café 12) stand tall in kate spade's aqua karolina heels 13) fresh farmer's market flowers – a must for any table – these are from oh joy!

chic. it's what's for dinner.
This looks like a fantastic little party!! I love those plates!
I too have big dreams of throwing an official dinner party. I love the idea of getting invites that coordinate with decorations I will have. Coming out in my apron all Joan Clever like.... LOVE IT! This board is so beautiful too, love those pumps ;)
i've been putting off getting the rifle recipe box, but i should just cave already. it's inevitable. so beautiful to resist.
Love all these little details. I saw this board and exclaimed, "I want to throw a dinner party, too!" You've inspired me!
I want to go to this party!
This is a dinner party that no one would want to miss. Loving the paper votives.
oh the paper lanterns..... I have a real 'thing' for them....Looks like a lovely dinner party - go on go ahead and have one.
I just got one of those Rifle recipe boxes. This completes the picture - lovely!!
Oh! Aren't fall dinner parties just the best? I want to come to this one. And host my own! Love the inspiration. You are the best collage creator EVER!
Absolutely adore this collage - as always!! I own the James Beard book (worked on this cover years ago) and love the letterpress invitaions - just beautiful!
After this post, it seems like a GREAT idea to quit my job and become a betty homemaker. I'll bring the wine if you make the casserole.
