Some of the wonderful dust jacket designs for Modern Library, from the '20s through the '70s. I love their 2-color palettes and the delicate line art. Such timeless work.

ahh! I love the color pallette as well. The designer never would have thought that in the future, people are raving over their designs. how refreshing. It helps me to focus on the story and draws me in.

exactly Emm, i couldn't agree more. yet the figures and images are loosely enough defined that your imagination can still run wild.
thanks for visiting my blog! x, jane
LOVE love love vintage dust jackets. I can't wait until I have more living space so I can buy more vintage books (some, sadly, just for their dust jackets).
so pretty! would love the "garden party" one!

I wish covers like this would come back around and we would see them on the shelves of book stores today.
It's SO nice to know there are lots of admirers out there. for the past few months I have actually been working on a side project to frame beautiful vintage and antique books that I come across. hopefully this Summer i'll have a little collection ready to post (and maybe sell).
xx, Jane
I'm seriously loving these fantastic book cover designs you're finding! I just love how cool they still are years later. I feel like I want to go garage saleing to try and find old, beautifully designed books now :)
