katie's place

I hope everyone has had a chance to read the August issue of Matchbook! Each issue is a proud accomplishment for our small team, but this one just a tad more so. Our very own Katie Armour featured her (old) San Francisco apartment, and it was simply stunning! Lavender walls brimming with artwork, ginger jars overflowing with purple hydrangea, pheasant feathers, red polka dot Porthault linens, gingham and leopard upholstry, a sky high collection of vintage art books and treasures... I could go on. The space was gorgeously captured by Cooper Carras, and every inch of it is quintessentially Katie. See the full story here...

PS. Apologies for the silence around here, but I'm sure you're all thrilled to know that we've made great headway on painting and wallpapering (yes, a daunting task!) our new apartment. So excited to begin decorating shortly... I'll be sharing some of my favorite finds from my hunt along the way.

hello, friday!

Our move went smoothly and I'm so excited to unpack, paint, wallpaper, and decorate this place! But first, our little matchbook team is busy at work wrapping up the August issue (coming out Monday)!
Have a wonderful weekend :)

PS. Finding inspiration in the portfolio of Ilona Jongepier, who took this photograph.

ensemble...

The last week of July means it's time for the fair! Our local fair is back in town and I can't wait to go this weekend – the perfect little PA send-off party, if you ask me :)

sunnies / tank / tote / bow flats / shorts / nail polish / earrings / prize ring!

ensemble...

We spent Saturday packing (in brown boxes not nearly as glamorous as this J.Crew number, sigh), savoring our second to last weekend of country living (so bittersweet), and brainstorming design ideas for the new apt. I picked up materials to make cornice boxes for the windows, following an online tutorial of course – I'm excited to pick out the fabric for them and the curtains next time I'm in the garment district. Here are a few other items I have my eye on:

Gorgeous NY calligraphy print – a must-have for my new office area / new keys call for a new key fob / classic striped dress / belt / wrist watch / earrings / belgian loafers / pink panama notebook / the perfect suitcase / and as always, I'll take New York rain or shine...

PS. All cornice-making tips are welcome :)
