will you be my bridesmaid?

Inspired by this DIY project by Anna Bond, I set aside a couple hours the other weekend to make cards of my own. Each set of bridesmaids I crafted is unique – using different colored paper swatches for the dresses and hair, the cards, and various dried flower stems (my own touch). I pecked away at my heirloom Olympia De Luxe typewriter to produce the cards, which read "Scott and Jane are getting married!" and "Will you be my bridesmaid?", as well as the girls' names and the addresses on the envelopes. I'm happy to say that all four girls were delighted with the snail mail invitations and happily accepted. Many thanks to Nell, Kate, Adara and April for making 2010 a year that I certainly look forward to! xx

wedding decor {color palette #2}

The selected color palette above is a muted version, building off of my original palette. Each of the shots above compliment the (very!) preliminary plans for my Adirondack wedding. With woodlands and greenery, locally grown flowers, preparedness for a chance of rain or sunshine, vintage croquet set (I believe my aunt has that very one at her house up there), (again) Anna Bond's paper pennant garland and lots more garlands of light – each of these images melds with how I ideally picture my little wedding to be.

wedding reception decor {color palette #1}

I pulled together a few of my favorite reception decor images from Once Wed, and what could be a lovely color palette for my Adirondack wedding reception. Though I generally lean toward pastels, I am in love with the colorful quilted tablecloth and Anna Bond's paper pennant garland.
